The brand new song 'Sutton United' is Ludwig and Birgitte's smooth and soulful tribute to their beloved Sutton United Football Club - a club they have loyally supported since they moved to Surrey in the year 2000.  An insider at the British Phonographic Industry (who wished to remain anonymous) described the new song as "revolutionary, and quite brilliant".

Walking In The Air

Feedback Syndrome lay down the gauntlet for 2003's Christmas number one.

Frostbyte Records today release what is being tipped by many music industry insiders as this year's Christmas number one single.  The legendary Portsmouth record company are so confident that Feedback Syndrome's 'Walking In The Air 2' is set to top the festive top forty - based on advance pre-order sales figures - they have made the unprecedented move of making the song available as a free mp3 file at this website.  As we go to press, there are already queues forming outside most of the UK's major record stores.  The single is expected to sell in such high numbers that it is anticipated all current stocks will have diminished by Tuesday afternoon.  The lead track on this single is a thoughtful and festive cover version of the famous Aled Jones song written by Howard Blake, which was originally featured in the animated Christmas cartoon 'The Snowman'.

(Feedback Syndrome's pre-release figures for their Christmas single 'Walking In The Air 2' have placed them on could nine.)

The free mp3 version of 'Walking In The Air 2' can be downloaded by following this link.  The officially released CD single also features an additional bonus track, 'I Know Him So Well', the band's tribute to fellow Frostbyte artist Dave, who has been "missing in action" for over a year whilst on his quest to search for a cure for the rare illness suffered by the band.  Both Meathook Snatch the 3rd and Duke Twatdefiner of Feedback Syndrome have the shadow of certain death hanging over them unless they are subjected to the sound of  constant feedback at all times.  They were brought to Frostbyte Records by label boss Big Bad Fat Cat Benjamin in 1992, when he realized that their illness could be harnessed, nurtured, and used to make alternative music.  'I Know Him So Well' was originally a single for Feedback Syndrome back in December 1997.  The track has been digitally remastered especially for the new single.  'Walking In The Air 2' is available on 2 track 7 inch and CD single, as well as on DVD single featuring the full-length nine minute video directed by David Cronenberg.

Masterblaster still bombing the charts!

Euthanasia's new year club smash is still storming the UK's club charts, some two months after its release.

The single 'Masterblaster' continues the band's sudden return to being the darlings of the British record industry.  Dedicated to the heroes of the terrorist attacks on New York, the track, in the guys own words, has been "blowing away the post September 11th blues".  The popular rave DJ and international playboy Aaron "The Hitman" Hill recently commented "Many people [at Aaron's DJ sets in America], after listening to this mega-sound, could hardly recollect any of the terror, as they were too damn busy dancing".

'Masterblaster' comes backed with 'Dilithium' and 'Zoanthorpy', two popular dance tracks the band recorded in the mid nineties which were only ever released to DJs as one-sided white label seven inch singles.

Ludwig released at long last!

Ludwig von Scheißhoffen's much delayed debut solo EP has finally been released!

Industry insiders and music journalists alike have been wildly speculating about whether 'The Mungers Song EP' would ever see the light of day (its release was first announced on this website way back in February).  Today, Ludwig updated his official website and proudly presented streamable previews of the three tracks which feature on the compact disc and 7" vinyl EP at the Frostbyte Records website.

(How 'The Mungers Song' is seen on the shelves of the world's record shops from today.)

This release has been accompanied by a mass-marketing campaign set to rival every boy and girl band, every TV-audition-show-syndicated jumped-up Sharon and Tracy, every avant garde and experimental band, and every last bandwagon-raping charity record's bid for the Christmas number one.  British Bookmakers William Hillfiger have already announced that they are no longer taking bets on Ludwig's single topping the charts this Christmas.  It is expected that 'The Mungers Song EP' will outsell Band Aid, Bing Crosby and the Bible many times over.  'The Mungers Song', 'The Plinkey Plonkey Song' and 'Let's All Get Pizzzed this Chrizzzmas' can all be exclusively previewed at this website: www.frostbyterecords.co.uk/songs.html.

From NME.com:
Euthanasia are back!

Like a phoenix rising majestically from the flames, Euthanasia have returned to Frostbyte Records, and today released their first official single since 1992's 'Patsy K' remix.

Stories have been circulating within the music press of Frostbyte Record's imminent financial collapse.  The notorius label boss colloquially known as 'Big Bad Fat Cat Benjamin' lost an estimated £47.3 million in his divorce from Marlena Popescu earlier this year.  Benjamin met, courted and married Popescu - a former female body builder from Bucharest - while on a two month cruise in the Mediterranean back in 1995.

Frostbyte Record's official website was last updated in February, when the news section announced a forthcoming solo release by Fußgängerzone vocalist Ludwig von Schießhoffen.  Since then, many of the support services staff within Frostbyte Records have been laid off in a drive to cut back expenditure as a result of Benjamin's divorce settlement.

The release of Euthanasia's club hit 'Misery Men' on twelve inch and compact disc is being heralded as the single that may well save Frostbyte from obscurity.  It is not known, however, if Ludwig von Schießhoffen will still be releasing his much sought after solo material in the near future.

A record company spokesperson was unable to comment on the precise circumstances of Euthansia's return to their original label, but hinted that they may be taking a more "active" role in the day-to-day running of "Southern England's number one record label".

Ludwig returns to Frostbyte!

Ludwig von Schießhoffen, lead vocalist with legendary German band Fußgängerzone, has this week formally announced that he has signed a lucrative solo contract with Frostbyte Records.

Speaking on his brand new official website launched this week at www.frostbyterecords.co.uk, Ludwig confirmed: "My goodly friend Birgitte has suffered so so a terrible injury to his hands, and can't be recording the new Fußgängerzone album 'The Bunny Girl Audit' with me for some time, so I have decided to recording some nice tunes meantime, for you all to enjoy! These songs will be being out on the famous Frostbyte Records label, as I have signed an exclusively licensed agreement joining the forces of Fußgängerzone's Goodbye To Berlin media empire with our old label Frostbyte, so this will be giving me much distribution when my first EP comings out in a few weeks time!"

Talking about the new track he has recorded for his first solo EP, Ludwig commented "['The Mungers Song'] is co-written for me by George Davidson, a well known Portsmouth character", and he added "Although now going solo, Ludwig is devoted and dedicated to all things Fußgängerzone", vowing only ever to release occasional EPs as Ludwig von Scheißhoffen - never albums.

'The Mungers Song' can be exclusively previewed at the 'songs' section of this website: www.frostbyterecords.co.uk/songs.html.

(Ludwig: "When a person has as much passion for music and creativity as does Ludwig von Schießhoffen, the music cannot simply just be put on hold.")

Fußgängerzone's re-released 'I Was A Teenage Mr. Man' album is reported to be selling extremely well, with some fans apparently camping outside branches of HMV, Virgin and Woolworth's on the morning of its release.

In other news, Andrew Morrison launched a brand new website this week, featuring his 'Andrew Morrison & Friends' side project.  Both mixes of drum n bass classic 'The Pompey Posse', and the quirky 'Peter Edney Speaking' can be streamed and downloaded at the 'songs' section of this site: www.frostbyterecords.co.uk/songs.html.

Frostbyte Records Is Back!

Frostbyte Records today released its first product in over a year.  With permission from Fußgängerzone's new Goodbye To Berlin media empire, the seminal album 'I Was A Teenage Mr. Man' has been remastered and once more released with new packaging.

Originally released in November, 1994, the album became an immediate classic, featuring such memorable singles as 'Narcotica' and 'A Rationale For Hating Students'.  This pressing of the album (available on CD, cassette and LP) has been remastered by Viewpoint Studios' technical wizard Andrew Morrison, with the compact disc featuring two bonus mixes - the ambient mix of 'I Like To Mumble', and Celestial Anthropoid star FairE's "Celestial Re-working" of 'Keyboards v Guitars' (originally featured on the Gin & Tonic single 'A F*cking Racket').

(Back cover for the remastered and reissued 'I Was A Teenage Mr. Man' album.)

This release marks for Frostbyte Records the beginning of a busy schedule in 2001, with many new releases planned from several artists.  More details have been emerging of Fußgängerzone's Ludwig's pending solo release.  Speaking from his bachelor pad in Sutton, Ludwig commented on a recent recording session conducted on his own at the new F-Studio complex.  Revealing that Birgitte has been "out of action" for several months, he said "for sure, I've been working on my own, but more than anything to stop me self from getting bored while Birgitte is recovering.  We are still building up our company [Goodbye To Berlin Records], and it may be some time until we are bringing out stuff here, but I am in talking with Frostbyte with views to releasing a few of my solo tunes on the old label.  We will be seeing soon."  One song Ludwig has recorded features words by a guest lyricist.  The track 'The Mungers Song', is likely to be the A-side on a future single release, with the sound being "text book 'Song Album' Fußgängerzone", according to Ludwig himself.  No release date has yet been announced.

Ayatollah rocks Hollywood

The Ayatollah Of Rock 'n Rollah today revealed in his annual Christmas speech that he is currently working on a screenplay in which he will "take Hollywood by storm".  He will be moving to Los Angeles in the early part of 2001 to organize the funding of what is said to be a multi-million pound production.

The Ayatollah also revealed that "the German band with the silly name" Fußgängerzone would be donating $64 million to the production.  They will also be contributing material to the soundtrack album featuring The Ayatollah himself.  It is rumoured that Claudia Schiffer and Patsy Palmer will both have starring roles in the film, as they were recently seen leaving a London night club on each arm of Ludwig von Scheißhoffen.

The exact plot of the film is as yet unknown, but the P&O firm are reported to have turned down a £21 million offer to use the luxury liner Orianna for a scene in the movie.  However, at the time of going to press, they were said to be "still under negotiation".

Frostbyte Records, meanwhile, are planning a "significant" album release on Monday the 1st January, 2001.  Although many bands are currently working on new tracks for future Frostbyte release, none of the artists have yet completely finished any material, and it is speculated that this album release will have something to do with the recent agreement reached between Big Bad Fat Cat Benjamin's label, and Fußgängerzone's slowly growing Goodbye To Berlin media empire.  The year 2000 has been an extremely busy one for Frostbyte Records, with legal wrangles and complications for Fat Cat Benjamin, yet this year saw no releases on the label.  Big Bad Ben is keen to kick-start Frostbyte's releases as soon as possible next year, to make up for the inevitable loss of revenue throughout 2000.  1999's 'Now That's What I Call, Fußgängerzone!' compilation album has enjoyed healthy sales figures during the last year, and its release is generally regarded to have kept Frostbyte Records afloat through recent months.

In other news, Ludwig von Scheißhoffen, the legendary lead singer of Fußgängerzone, has announced initial plans for a forthcoming solo release, whilst Fußgängerzone has emerged as one of the main financial backers in Portsmouth's new Gunwharf project, and are said to be sponsoring one of the many nightclubs due to be opening in this complex.  Commenting on this, and explaining that the band thought it was time to give the city of Portsmouth something back in return for its years of support and goodwill, Birgitte said that he "couldn't wait to be seeing the pretty girls hanging about in our groovy love clubs, for sure!"

The Ayatollah Of Rock 'n' Rollah ended his speech on a rare positive note, saying "I wish everybody the happiest of new years, and I feel that 2001 will be a prosperous year not only for Ayatollah and his fans, but I feel that Goodbye To Berlin  - with the assistance of Frostbyte Records - will become one of the most dominating labels in the history of the music industry.  May God speed be with you."

Frostbyte & Fußgängerzone come to agreement

Birgitte Möchtehaben and media mogul Big Bad Fat Cat Benjamin today announced they had overcome the difficulties of their recent court action, and have arranged an unprecedented agreement, with industry insiders predicting it as the future of contracts between labels and artists in the "net music" based world.

Fußgängerzone have arranged for Frostbyte to continue to promote their previous material, as it is so artistically influential to everybody on the planet, and Fußgängerzone themselves get a much higher cut of any profits.  Complex negotiations have been conducted and an arrangement has almost been finalized allowing both Frostbyte Records and Fußgängerzone's new "Goodbye To Berlin Records" equal access to promote the band's extensive back catalogue (in Goodbye To Berlin's case as free mp3 downloads, in Frostbyte's as linking to those downloads and continuing to sell the old singles and albums).

Frostbyte Records have made no secret of being in some financial difficulties of late, and this deal is seen as going someway towards recuperating the company's monetary losses.

Despite rumours of their departure from Frostbyte Records, The Celestial Anthropoids have recently entered Viewpoint Studios to record a new single for the label.  Details of the tracks are currently unavailable, but Fair E has assured fans the tunes will be "cutting edge and throbbing".

Frostbyte Records v Fußgängerzone - the verdict

The eagerly awaited outcome of the complicated legal case between Frostbyte Records and the rogue act Fußgängerzone has today been announced.  As anticipated, Fußgängerzone's Birgitte Möchtehaben acted as the solicitor on behalf of the band, and put on a P.T. Barnum performance representing them in court.

Outside the Portsmouth county court, Hampshire Constabulary had enforced rigorous crowd control.  The hordes of awaiting fans emitted hysterical gasps when Birgitte appeared outside the court sporting his new clean-shaven look.  Rumours abounded amongst the onlookers that Ludwig too may have removed his trademark moustache.  Birgitte himself was wearing Ray Ban Aviator sunglasses and hair fashioned by Charles Worthington.

Soon after, Frostbyte Records boss Big Bad Fat Cat Benjamin arrived complete with his protective cortège of minders, and accompanied by a phalanx of lawyers.  Just inside the court building, the angry Ben and a bemused Birgitte posed for a blatant publicity-seeking photo opportunity - the now famous "head to head" picture as seen below which has so far been featured in over one hundred national newspapers world wide.

Birgitte reportedly suggested a meeting between the sides before the proceedings began, claiming he had something to discuss.  BBFCB refused, and was unofficially quoted by some journalists as saying he would "make the Kraut bastards pay".

The case commenced with the arguments for the claimant set out by efficient and smooth solicitors on behalf of Frostbyte.  All previously expected aspects of the alleged breach of contract were discussed.  The free release of an mp3 sound file of Fußgängerzone's latest recording on the band's own internet website rather than being saved for inclusion on a future Frostbyte Records released album or single, was viewed as the crux of the case, with many legal experts predicting this matter as Birgitte's (and Fußgängerzone's) Achilles' heel.

Frostbyte's solicitors highlighted the apparent non sanctioning of the release by the Big Bad Fat Cat, and pointed out an estimated figure of lost earnings for the record company, had it been commercially released to the public.  If the track were to have been featured on a CD single, the profits from that release would have been some £250,000 based on "past sales figures for this incredibly popular German band with a silly name", they claimed.  Frostbyte however, were only seeking a nominal £49,000 damages through the small claims court in order to speed up proceedings, and so as not to bankrupt this critically acclaimed act who were seen as the saviours of Frostbyte Records upon signing to the label in 1992.  At the same time, it was stated that without Frostbyte's finely honed marketing and publicity skills Fußgängerzone would have "faded years ago", partly due to their self-destructive and hedonistic lifestyles of recent years.

Curiously, the case for the respondent was not put.  Birgitte (representing Fußgängerzone) informed the court that information had "just come to light which will quickly bring proceedings to a close".  In a sterling and bravado performance, he waved a copy of Fußgängerzone's lucrative 1992 contract in air, before revealing to the court that at the time 'Fußgängerzone.com' was released online, the contract was expired, as Fat Cat Ben had forgotten to renew it after its initial six month's trial period had ended.

The claimant's solicitors immediately called foul, insisting that Fußgängerzone must have known all along that was the case and that this information should have been shared during the discovery process.  The court room promptly turned into a zoo, with BBFCB dumbfounded, banging his head repeatedly on a table.

After a ten minute recess to calm the tense atmosphere, Judge Jewels immediately threw the case out and reprimanded Birgitte Möchtehaben for wasting court time and tax-payers' money.

Once Birgitte stopped laughing he was seen to whisper something in Benjamin's ear, resulting in their shaking of hands.  This action was seemingly in no ways amicable, but nevertheless certainly gentlemanly.

After this debacle, outside on the courtroom steps, Birgitte told the waiting paparazzi that BBFCB is possibly the stupidest person he has ever met but that "he knows how to party and what to do with a fuzzbox, so let him rock on".  Fat Cat Ben, clearly rattled, described Birgitte as "a cross-dressing panty-waist snake-in-the-grass", but agreed that they "are on speaking terms at least".

The farcical and abrupt ending of this legal case was seen by some music industry insiders as a disappointing damp squib.  In a recent edition of Melody Maker, music journalist Mark Sutherland had enthused that "the upcoming legal case between Fußgängerzone and Frostbyte Records is the most important and significant music industry courtroom drama since George Michael squared up to Sony".  After hearing the outcome of today's case, he said "those Germans and that jumped up Rupert Murdoch wannabe are jerks".

In an official statement from Fußgängerzone, published via their fan club 'Teenage Mr. Men', the group's minder and fixer The Ayatollah Of Rock 'n' Rollah said that Fußgängerzone are "dapper; Birgitte's awesomely still on guitar and Ludwig is most definitely your rapper".  He added that the new album is in the demo'ing stage, and revealed its working title as 'The Bunny Girl Audit'.

(Titans collide)

In other related news, the experimentalist noise embracers Feedback Syndrome have announced that they are wholeheartedly and 100% behind BBFCB and Frostbyte Records.  This is out of respect to Ben's care and support through the band's acute medical condition they have suffered from since 1992.  There have been rumours in the Frostbyte Records camp of the possible defections by acts to Fußgängerzone's new 'Goodbye To Berlin' media empire, with The Ayatollah Of Rock 'n' Rollah already pledging allegiance to their cause, and speculation rife that The Celestial Anthropoids are also soon to follow.

Frostbyte Records v Fußgängerzone - court date announced

Solicitors acting on behalf of Frostbyte Records today confirmed the date of the first preliminary hearing in the breach of contract case against rogue act Fußgängerzone, the German band with the silly name.

Initial proceedings will begin on Friday 4th August at Portsmouth's county court.  Speculation is already running wild that Fußgängerzone member Birgitte Möchtehaben, and label boss Big Bad Fat Cat Benjamin will personally attend these hearings.  Extra local Government funds have been made available to finance the heavy Hampshire Constabulary presence needed to control the anticipated high number of fans and press during the duration of this complex legal case.

Fußgängerzone are being prosecuted for loss of earnings after they announced their plans to leave Frostbyte and set up a rival Surrey based record company.  The financial element centres around the band's decision in 1999 to release their only newly recorded material (intended for inclusion on the eagerly awaited forth studio album) as a free internet download in the controversial new mp3 audio format.  Fat Cat Ben claims that this is tantamount to a loss of earnings for Frostbyte Records, and will seek a nominal amount of £49,000 damages - to win a moral argument and force the band to either complete the new album and release it on Frostbyte Records, or face a lengthy case for breach of contract.

Writ issued to Fußgängerzone

A writ has been presented to Fußgängerzone by solicitors who turned up unannounced at their "F-Studio" complex today, which has recently been relocated to Sutton, Surrey (where the band are rumoured to be writing new material).

The writ, on behalf of Frostbyte Records, is for alleged breach of contract regarding Fußgängerzone's apparent setting up of a new media empire, "Goodbye To Berlin", which encompasses a new record label.  Speaking on behalf of Frostbyte boss Big Bad Fat Cat Benjamin, an employee of King & Franckiess solicitors said in a brief statement this evening that both Ludwig and Birgitte are contracted to record a further two albums for Fat Cat Ben's label, and are being sued, with the intention still being to release any new material on Frostbyte Records.

Despite the hoards of paparazzi and reporters now camped outside the heavily guarded F-Studio complex, no statement has yet been issued by Fußgängerzone.

Frostbyte Records to feature on
'The South Bank Show'

ITV has confirmed that the long and eventful history of Frostbyte Records is to be covered in an edition of arts programme 'The South Bank Show' which is scheduled to be broadcast sometime during the summer.

Editing of the hour long documentary has just been completed, and the show is said to feature many in-depth interviews with the key figures involved in the success and day to day running of this label.

Tabloid newspapers have been full of reports recently about the "incredibly frank" interview given by troubled artist The Ayatollah Of Rock 'n' Rollah, who is still coming to terms with his recently diagnosed schizophrenia.  In Melvin Bragg's probing interview, The Ayatollah is rumoured to break down in tears when admitting that he cannot recall any of his "confusion years", during which he worked with No One Knows We're Dead under the name of "The Saint".

He is also said to speak with much regret about lending his car to an inebriated No One Knows We're Dead on Christmas Day last year (an action which ultimately led to their deaths, when the car sped off the M27 at Cosham into the Hilsea Creek, barely half a mile from The Blue Lagoon, where Frostbyte Records has held its regular club nights for the past two years).

A spokeswoman for ITV refused to comment on speculation that The Ayatollah reveals he has been signed up to Fußgängerzone's new record company "Goodbye To Berlin Records" during the interview.

The broadcast date of the show is as yet unconfirmed, but it's thought it will air sometime before the autumn.

Fuß rift denied

Rumours of an apparent rift between Frostbyte Records and its German supergroup saviours Fußgängerzone have been strenuously denied by label boss and Portsmouth entrepreneur Big Bad Fat Cat Benjamin.

There have been unofficial stories circulating (allegedly from sources within Viewpoint Studios, the company's centrepiece recording suite) that the band are preparing to leave the label - which they saved from bankruptcy in 1992 - and set up their own rival record company.

Fat Cat Benjamin dismissed this story as "absolute tosh" at an official press conference held last week.  When questioned about supposedly being "livid" that Fußgängerzone had chosen to give away the only new material recorded in the last two years for free at their website in the controversial new mp3 format, Benjamin assured all present that "I'm happy for the boys to release whatever they see fit.  There is no disagreement of any kind whatsoever between myself and the band.  We owe a great debt to Fußgängerzone."

He told reporters, "I have always believed in - and stood for - the music [on Frostbyte Records].  Any excess profit has ultimately been invested in our monthly 'Frostbitten' club nights at the Hilsea Lido."  He added that "Work on the next Fußgängerzone LP continues unabated.  The band have told me personally that it will be finished by the autumn."

(The Hilsea Lido's Blue Lagoon - Frostbyte profits invested in monthly club night.)

Asked about the "leak" from a source at Viewpoint Studios, he commented "These so-called reports from the studios were unconfirmed - no one has been found to be in breach of the artists' security.  My guess is that it's just puerile tabloid speculation.  Don't forget, people are desperate for new material; they'll cling on to any bit of gossip, however unfounded."  The band, however, were unavailable for comment.

Fußgängerzone themselves, meanwhile, are updating their popular website, to include a new extended mix of 'Fußgängerzone.com' as a free mp3 download - with the FULL backing of Frostbyte Records.

In other news, former Frostbyte signings Euthanasia have at long last released some new material.  The 'Freeform EP', features two mixes of new track 'Misery Men', which has already established itself as a major club hit, as well as the two remastered archive tracks 'Dilithium' and 'Zoanthorpy', which were only ever released as a limited "DJ only" run of one-sided white label seven inches in the mid-nineties.  The 'Freeform EP' is only available from the band's mp3.com website.
