History
1995
January 1995 saw the release of Fußgängerzone's
seminal 'Belch' - a track now available as a free mp3 download at
the band's www.F-zone.co.uk website.
'Acne: The Greatest Zits', a second
compilation of all the Frostbyte singles since the 'Nocturnal Emissions'
album came out in late January, charting the rise and rise of this now
famous record label.
Meanwhile, Fußgängerzone had
been busy in the studio with their friends The Celestial Anthropoids, who
were struggling to find inspiration for new material. The results
of this collaboration came out under the new name Gin & Tonic,
with the platinum selling single 'A F*cking Racket'.
Fußgängerzone had constantly
been playing live in small venues throughout the United Kingdom since signing
to Frostbyte Records, but now plans were afoot for a humungous World wide
stadium tour. The band began negotiations with concert promoter Harvey
Goldsmith to prepare for this massive logistical exercise. This was
to become the historic 'Fuzzbox Wah' tour of 1996, and put the band's release
schedule on hold for many months. This gave Fat Cat Ben some time
to take a well earned rest from the rat race. He soon departed for
a two month cruise in the Mediterranean.

By July, alarm bells began ringing as employees
of Frostbyte had heard nothing from Benjamin. Andrew Morrison swiftly
held a press conference pleading for anyone with information on BBFCB's
whereabouts to come forward. Close circuit camera footage from the
cruise ship revealed pictures of him leaving the boat with a mystery red
head whilst docked in Cyprus.
Andrew took over the day to day running
of the company, but the future of Frostbyte looked bleak, as money was
rapidly disappearing from Benjamin's record company bank account
(yet
still his exact location could not be found). By the end of 1995,
no more music had been released on Frostbyte Records.
